Full metrics table — Aug 10–16, 2026 vs Aug 3–9, 2026
| Metric | This week | Last week | 4-week avg | WoW | Note |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Daily Active Addresses | 3.68 M | 3.52 M | 3.49 M | +4.5% | Daily average; weekly unique addresses ~4.28M. Growth driven by stablecoin settlement corridors and new-wallet onboarding. |
| Daily Transactions | 12.35 M | 12 M | 11.79 M | +2.9% | Weekly total ≈ 86.5M. Transfer-heavy mix: ~19% of daily volume is TRC-20 activity. |
| USDT Supply (TRC-20) | 91.2 $B | 90.8 $B | 90.55 $B | +0.44% | TRONSCAN; >47% of global tracked USDT. +$0.4B net issuance this week. |
| Total Stablecoin Supply | 92.1 $B | 91.6 $B | 91.38 $B | +0.55% | USDT share ≈ 98.5–99% of TRON stablecoin supply; USDC and USDD remain marginal. |
| Weekly USDT Transfer Volume | 163.6 $B | 161 $B | 158.2 $B | +1.6% | ≈16.3M transfers in 7 days; average daily volume $23.4B. |
| DeFi TVL (DefiLlama) | 4.58 $B | 4.52 $B | 4.5 $B | +1.3% | Still ~25% below the Q1 2026 level. JustLend holds ≈66% of TRON DeFi TVL. |
| Daily DEX Volume | 51.2 $M | 44.3 $M | 47 $M | +15.6% | Recovery week after four consecutive quarterly declines; SunSwap V2/V3 drive most volume. |
| TRX Price | 0.331 $ | 0.327 $ | 0.326 $ | +1.2% | Week range $0.328–0.334. ~23% below ATH. Longest consolidation of the year. |
| TRX Market Cap | 31.1 $B | 30.7 $B | 30.6 $B | +1.3% | Circulating supply ≈ 94B TRX; net issuance continues to exceed burns. |
| Weekly Network Fees | 55.3 $M | 53.9 $M | 53.35 $M | +2.6% | Annualised ≈ $2.88B. Fee growth tracks settlement volume, not TRX price. |
| Energy Rental Price (1h, per 65k) | 1.85 TRX | 1.95 TRX | 1.98 TRX | -5.1% | Spot range 24–42 SUN/energy; volume-weighted average ≈ 29 SUN. Burn-equivalent remains ≈6.5 TRX/transfer. |
| Weekly Energy Consumption | 63.1 B units | 61 B units | 60.45 B units | +3.4% | Proxy: energy consumed by TRC-20 transfers and contract calls. New-recipient transfers (131k energy) are a structural demand driver. |
| TRX Staked (energy+bandwidth) | 38.7 % supply | 38.5 % supply | 38.45 % supply | +0.5% | Staked TRX ≈ 36.4B. Net staking inflows resumed after two quiet weeks. |

Analysis
What happened this week
A broad, demand-led week: every core usage metric rose, TRX gained quietly, and the energy rental market moved in the opposite direction — cheaper energy at higher usage, which is the healthiest supply/demand setup we have tracked this quarter.
Fastest movers
Daily DEX volume (+15.6% WoW) was the week’s fastest mover, rebounding from four quarters of decline — an early, unconfirmed sign that DeFi activity may be stabilising. Energy consumption (+3.4%) and active addresses (+4.5%) grew at healthy rates that outpace USDT supply growth, indicating usage intensity rather than simple issuance.
Decliners
Only one metric fell this week: energy rental price (-5.1% WoW, to 1.85 TRX per 65k for 1-hour rentals). The decline is supply-led — new P2P venues and existing marketplaces added order-book depth — not a sign of weaker demand (see energy demand +3.4%). Burn-equivalent costs (≈6.5 TRX per transfer) were unchanged, so the burn-vs-rent spread widened to a ~71% discount, an all-time wide for this series.
Anomalies & flags
Two items flagged. First: DEX volume spiked to $51.2M daily (+15.6%) after four consecutive quarters of decline — we treat this as noise until it persists for 3+ weeks. Second: USDT net issuance was +$0.4B this week after two weeks of ~flat supply; TRONSCAN shows the increase concentrated in exchange and merchant-custody addresses, consistent with on-ramp demand from Southeast Asia.
Context: vs the past 4 weeks
Versus the 4-week average: usage metrics (transactions +4.7%, active addresses +5.4%, energy demand +4.4%) are all running above their recent baseline, while energy price (-6.6% vs 4w avg) is running below it. TRX (+1.5% vs 4w avg) is grinding up inside a tight $0.321–$0.334 range that has held since late July. The overall picture is of a network getting busier and cheaper to use — consistent with TRON’s positioning as high-volume settlement infrastructure rather than a speculation venue.
Conclusion
What happened this week, in one paragraph: record-level settlement activity (86.5M transactions, $163.6B USDT volume), 4.5% growth in daily active addresses, DeFi TVL stabilising around $4.6B with a DEX-volume bounce, TRX consolidating at $0.331, and an energy market that got busier and cheaper at the same time. The divergence between usage (up) and rental prices (down) is the single most interesting signal for anyone transacting USDT on TRON: renting remains, by a wide margin, the cheapest way to pay for transfers.
