TRON Weekly Intelligence — August 10–16, 2026

Published 2026-08-17· min read· Tronreview Research Desk

Every week Tronreview answers the same five questions about the TRON ecosystem. Keeping the questions fixed lets readers compare across weeks; keeping the evidence visible lets you verify our claims. All figures as of 2026-08-16 23:59 UTC, aggregated from whitelisted sources (see /sources/).

1. Network — how active is the TRON network this week?

Exceptionally active, at the upper end of this quarter’s range. Daily transactions averaged 12.35M (+2.9% WoW), weekly total ≈86.5M. Daily active addresses reached 3.68M (+4.5% WoW), the strongest reading since the June 15 record day (14.6M transactions). TRON also crossed 15 billion cumulative transactions and ~390M total accounts during the week. Weekly USDT transfer volume was $163.6B across ~16.3M transfers. Usage intensity is the story: transfers per active address ticked up for a third straight week.

2. Stablecoins — how is USDT performing on TRON?

USDT on TRON passed $91.2B circulating supply (TRONSCAN), with 75.6M USDT holders and 3.5B+ cumulative transfers. Net issuance was +$0.4B this week after two flat weeks, concentrated in exchange and merchant-custody addresses. USDT still represents >47% of all tracked global USDT supply and ~98.5% of TRON stablecoins. A detail that matters for energy users: new-recipient transfers (131k energy) remain a structural share of volume as wallets are onboarded across emerging markets — USDT holders grew by roughly 300k this week.

3. DeFi — what happened in the DeFi ecosystem?

A stabilisation week. DeFi TVL rose 1.3% to $4.58B — the third consecutive weekly gain, though still ~25% below the Q1 level. The notable move was daily DEX volume at $51.2M (+15.6% WoW), the first meaningful bounce after four straight quarterly declines; SunSwap V2/V3 drove most of it. JustLend remains dominant at ~66% of TRON DeFi TVL (≈$3.0B). No exploits or major governance events were reported on TRON protocols this week. We flag the DEX bounce as unconfirmed until it persists three weeks.

4. Energy — what happened in the TRON energy market?

The market got cheaper while demand rose — a rare and healthy combination. Volume-weighted rental price for 1-hour, 65k-energy rentals fell 5.1% to 1.85 TRX (≈29 SUN/energy, spot range 24–42 SUN), while energy consumption rose 3.4% to 63.1B units for the week. the new P2P venue’s launch on Aug 14 added a P2P order book that is expanding supply-side competition. The burn alternative remains ≈6.5 TRX per transfer, so the rent-vs-burn discount widened to ~71% — the widest in our series. Staking economics are unchanged: roughly 36k TRX staked sustains one 65k-energy transfer per day, and 38.7% of TRX supply is staked.

5. Outlook — what matters most next week?

Five items. (1) Post-Pyrrho network metrics: first full week after the Aug 16 mandatory upgrade — watch for any stability or throughput regression. (2) Binance’s HTX-related restrictions take effect Aug 23; corridor-flow shifts could show up in USDT volume and energy demand data within days. (3) Energy rental spreads after the new P2P venue’s first full week — we expect continued compression toward the 1.6–1.7 TRX band. (4) Any TRON DAO statement on post-quantum mainnet migration (targeted Q3 2026). (5) TRX at $0.331 is testing its $0.3335 supertrend resistance for the third time — a daily close above $0.335 would open a test of the $0.34–$0.35 zone.

One-sentence summary

The week’s intelligence in one sentence: a settlement network operating at record intensity, a stablecoin economy crossing another supply milestone, a DeFi layer showing the first pulse of stabilisation, and an energy market that is doing exactly what a maturing resource market should — getting more efficient as it gets busier.
