TRON Weekly Intelligence — August 24–30, 2026
Every week Tronreview answers the same five questions about the TRON ecosystem. Keeping the questions fixed lets readers compare across weeks; keeping the evidence visible lets you verify our claims. All figures as of 2026-08-30 23:59 UTC, aggregated from whitelisted sources (see /sources/).
1. Network — how active is the TRON network this week?
At a new plateau. The network crossed 400.21M cumulative accounts on Aug 24, adds ~170,000 new addresses per day, and daily transactions averaged 11.82M (weekly total ≈82.7M). Daily active accounts averaged 4.64M over the trailing 30 days — the highest sustained level of the year, with several August sessions above 5M. Weekly USDT transfer volume was ~$165.4B. Cumulative lifetime settlement volume passed $29 trillion during the week.
| Indicator | Value | Change |
|---|---|---|
| Daily transactions | 11.82M | +1.0% WoW |
| Daily active accounts (30d avg) | 4.64M | +4.3% WoW |
| New addresses per day | ~170,000 | steady |
| Cumulative accounts | 400.2M | milestone |
2. Stablecoins — how is USDT performing on TRON?
At majority-share territory. USDT on TRON reached $94.2B — 51.4% of all circulating USDT — after a +$3B single-day jump on Aug 24 and a $1B Tether treasury mint on Aug 21. Over 30 days TRON added $1.1B of USDT, the most of any chain and roughly 8x the next-fastest (Token Terminal). USDT holders and holder-count growth continue to track the ~170k/day address expansion. The $100B milestone is now weeks, not months, away at the current run-rate.
| Indicator | Value | Change |
|---|---|---|
| USDT circulating supply | $94.2B | 51.4% of global |
| 30-day USDT growth | +$1.1B | No.1 of all chains |
| Single-day jump (Aug 24) | +$3B | quarter high |
| Tether treasury mint (Aug 21) | $1B | pre-issuance |
3. DeFi — what happened in the DeFi ecosystem?
A second consecutive strong week. DeFi TVL rose 2.4% to $4.72B — the fourth straight weekly gain. Daily DEX volume averaged $53.6M (+8.3% WoW), extending the mid-August rebound into what now looks like a stabilisation. JustLend DAO dominated headlines: its new Buy Energy feature went live (fee savings ~63% vs burn), USDD 2.0 Supply Mining Phase 21 rewards went claimable, and Binance Wallet’s DeFi Summer Season 2 was extended with TRON opportunities. No exploits or major governance incidents were reported.
| Indicator | Value | Change |
|---|---|---|
| DeFi TVL | $4.72B | +2.4% WoW |
| Daily DEX volume | $53.6M | +8.3% WoW |
| JustLend Buy Energy savings | ~63% | vs burn |
| Major incidents | 0 | clean week |
4. Energy — what happened in the TRON energy market?
Cheaper again, on supply expansion. The volume-weighted 1-hour rental price for 65k energy fell 2.2% to 1.78 TRX (≈27 SUN; spot 22–38 SUN). The marginal change came from distribution, not just marketplaces: JustLend DAO’s in-protocol Buy Energy went live with ~63% savings versus burning, widening the acquisition funnel. Weekly energy consumption rose 2.2% to 65.3B units, with new-recipient transfers (131k energy) scaling alongside ~170k new addresses/day. The burn floor is unchanged (~6.5 TRX per transfer; 100 SUN/unit since Proposal #104), so the rent-vs-burn discount widened to ~73%. Staking share ticked up to 38.9% of supply.
| Indicator | Value | Change |
|---|---|---|
| Rental price (1h, 65k) | 1.78 TRX | -2.2% WoW |
| Spot range | 22–38 SUN/energy | weighted ≈27 SUN |
| Burn-equivalent cost | ≈6.5 TRX | unchanged |
| Weekly energy demand | 65.3B units | +2.2% WoW |
5. Outlook — what matters most next week?
Five items. (1) The $100B USDT-on-TRON crossing — at the current run-rate it is weeks away and will be the most-watched stablecoin milestone of the year; expect it to drive onboarding flow (and first-recipient energy demand) when it prints. (2) Whether daily active accounts hold the ~4.6M plateau after the milestone week. (3) Tron Inc.’s Super Representative election — a governance test for the DAT model. (4) August full-month energy aggregates as the monthly report lands — the 30-day rental average looks set to close near 1.85 TRX, down ~12% month over month. (5) Any governance proposals touching resource economics; the August 2025 precedent (Proposal #104) shows one vote can reprice the market.
| Indicator | Value | Change |
|---|---|---|
| Key milestone | $100B USDT | weeks away |
| Key level (activity) | 4.6M DAU | hold test |
| Governance watch | SR election | Tron Inc. |
| Monthly print | August aggregates | due next week |
One-sentence summary
The week’s intelligence in one sentence: TRON put up its biggest scale week of the year — 400M accounts, majority share of global USDT, $29T lifetime settlement — while the resource market kept getting cheaper, which is exactly the combination a settlement-first network wants.
